After losing the slander case against Johnny Depp last year, Amber Heard was beaming at her first significant red carpet appearance at the 69th Taormina Film Festival. After losing the legal case, the actress has generally avoided the spotlight. Heard even sold her California home and relocated to Spain with her daughter Oonagh Paige. The Aquaman actress assured Spanish press that she has lined up projects and is not leaving Hollywood.
Amber Heard made her first significant public appearance on Saturday after losing the defamation case against Johnny Depp. She made a grand entrance for the opening of her film In The Fire at the 69th Taormina Film Festival. The actress expressed her excitement for her future film despite not knowing when it would be released.
During a discussion with PEOPLE “It’s a beautiful movie about the almost paranormal effect and force of love,” Heard remarked. It is about the limitations that love may overcome, how it manifests itself, and really, how powerful love is. It’s a love story, however I don’t want to sound corny about it.
The Aquaman actress wore a black maxi dress with matching platform heels, and she looked gorgeous. She chose a daring makeup look with crimson lips and curled her blonde hair into tresses. She appeared to be in good spirits as she joked around with her co-stars, chatted with them, and posed for pictures with admirers. Along with the director Conor Allyn, Heard was joined at the premiere of In The Fire by her co-stars Luca Calvani, Eduardo Noriega, and Yari Gugliucci.
Prior to the start of her and Depp’s defamation trial in April of last year, Amber Heard’s final performing role was in the film In The Fire. Additionally, she will play the same character in Aquaman 2, which is slated for release in December 2023.
