Amar Singh Chamkila, starring Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra, is one of the most highly anticipated OTT releases of April. It is based on the life of the late legendary Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila, who was killed at a young age. On April 3, the makers of the film dropped a new song from the movie. Titled Tu Kya Jaane, the song was crooned by Yashika Sikka and composed by AR Rahman. The track features Diljit and Parineeti’s old-school romance.

The opening frame includes a poster of Tu Kya Jaane, featuring Parineeti and Diljit.”Tu Kya Jaane” is a blend of beats rooted in tradition, and yet gives a modern effect. It beautifully portrays the hidden affection and devotion felt for someone who remains unaware of your love. While its first two songs Ishq Mitaye and Naram Kaalja are already ruling the charts, the film’s third song Tu Kya Jaane is all set to follow suit.

Amar Singh Chamkila is a Punjabi Singer who is the highest record-selling Indian artist of the 1980s. The film titled as the singer’s name is a biopic of this legendary who was called Elvis Of India. Helmed by Imtiaz Ali, the director shared it as a project he wanted to finish long time.
Imtiaz Ali admitted that he was initially unsure of casting Diljit Dosanjh in his film, Amar Singh Chamkila. The director wasn’t sure if things were going to work out with Dosanjh for some reason. But now Imtiaz Ali feels that nobody except for Diljit and Parineeti could play Amar Singh Chamkila and Amarjot Kaur in his directorial venture. The film is set to release on Netflix on April 12, 2024.
