Different trade trackers have made different claims regarding the opening collection Selfiee directed by Raj Mehta. Some sources are telling its opening collection of Rs 2.25 crores, while some websites have claimed its first-day collection to be Rs 3 crores. But all the trade trackers have told me it is less than Rs 5 crore.
According to the trade reports, the occupancy of the film was very poor in the morning shows on Friday. However, there was some improvement in the evening shows. It is believed that the film can gain some momentum over the weekend.
It has even been claimed that due to a lack of audience in many places, even the shows of the film had to be cancelled. It is believed that even if the film makes a jump of 100 percent in the collection on Saturday and Sunday, its lifetime connection is still difficult to reach Rs 30 crore.
It is believed that the audience who have come to watch the film in theatres has reached it only because of Akshay Kumar. It is also being said that instead of releasing in theatres, the film should have been taken directly to the OTT platform.
