2018 director Jude Anthany Joseph reveals his ”Oscar” campaign and strategy !

Jude Anthany Joseph, the director of 2018, which was India’s official entry for the Oscars this year, opened up about his journey during the campaigning in a recent interview. He claimed that a single-page advertisement costs USD 15,000 approximately  12,48,420.00 Indian Rupee.

The Malayalam survival drama film 2018 directed by Jude Anthany Joseph has been selected as India’s official entry for the 96th Academy Awards. The story revolves around the 2018 Kerala floods, which are widely regarded as the worst natural disaster the state has experienced in over a century.

In an interview, the successful filmmaker recounted his entire journey in the United States. He revealed that the first step is to hire a publicist to help plan out the campaign strategy. The publicist helps decide which screenings will have reception at the end of it and which won’t.

Furthermore, it is critical to reach as many people as possible, which can be accomplished through magazine advertisements. However, the filmmaker stated that a single-page ad in these magazines can cost up to USD 15,000, or approximately Rs. 12.48lakhs.

Jude Anthany also stated that, in addition to liking the film, the audience must also like the filmmaker, and that interactions with the audience are crucial. He stated that the majority of the audience members he spoke with were surprised that he could complete the film on a budget of USD 3 million, which is considered a small budget in the United States.
