Post-Bahubali Actor Prabhas’s fame has grown tenfold to reach new heights, all eyes have been on him to see what roles he chooses to bring to life next. Though his roles as gangster CEO in Sahoo, love-struck palmist in Radheyshyam, and most recently Lord Shri Ram in Adipurush have brought him commercial success, they failed to charm the audience and, most importantly, his fans.
Commercial success has come easy to Prabhas after his blockbuster two-part Bahubali movie franchise, seeing as his mere presence ushers large crowds into theaters, but playing roles that leave a lasting impact has been something of a challenge for the actor. His next movie, titled “Salaar,” with director Prashanth Neel renowned for his KGF series that has set the standard for “mass” and “hero elevation,” might be the only way to save this bad patch.
Fans are eagerly awaiting what appears to be the perfect match, between Prabhas’ rugged looks (which took away from his appeal in his recent portrayal of Ram) and Prashanth Neel’s intense, action-packed, and emotionally well-balanced style of cinema. This may be the comeback the pan-Indian hero needs. Salaar, with Shruthi Hassan playing the female lead along with Prithviraj Sukumaran and Jagapathi Babu in important roles, has raised expectations, with the release of each poster increasing the stakes.
With September 28th as the release date, we can only count the days and hope Prabhas pulls through and his past flops can be long forgotten.
