Shanti Priya about co-star Akshay Kumar:
Shanti Priya, a popular actress in the late 80’s and throughout the 90’s, was the female lead in Akshay Kumar’s first film, Saugandh. The actress took a break from the limelight from 2012 to 2022 but was recently seen as Bonamma in Dharavi Bank. In an interview recently, the actress revealed some shocking truths about the OMG2 actor, Akshay Kumar.
The actress recalled the time she met Akshay Kumar on the sets of Holiday when he was initially warm but ended up ghosting her later. In fact, the actress reveled that the star hero said that it would not be possible for her to make a come-back and act again because that is unheard of for heroines after marriage.
He apparently told her heroines aren’t treated the same after they have tied the knot. She went on to spill more tainting information regarding their encounter, stating that the actor had ignored her calls and messages regarding any work offers he might have for her.
The Maharshi actress remembered a time when she emailed her pictures to his team upon their request but failed to receive any response. She said “They kept telling me they’ll get back to me, but they never did. Calling, no pick up, calling no pick up… The true color came out. I messaged Akshay, no reply. Seen, no reply; seen, no reply; seen, no reply. It was horrible. And my mom has a soft corner for him. I asked her if I should still call him, she said stop.”
In fact, Shanthi Priya explained how it was she, who agreed to be cast opposite Akshay in his debut film ‘Saugandh’ when she had quite a lot of films in her hands. But the Rowdy Rathore actor didn’t return the favor when it was his turn. “You are giving everybody an opportunity, but you’ve forgotten your first heroine”, Shanthi Priya concluded.
These shocking revelations concerning Shanti Piya and her co-star Akshay Kumar are taking the internet by storm.This, however, is not the first time a similar incident regarding the two Saugandh actors has taken place. In June 2020, the actress said that her co-actor Akshay Kumar took jabs at her darker complexion on the sets of Ikke Pe Ikka.
“I play a modern girl and the script demanded that I had to wear a short dress. I used to wear skin-coloured stockings and once while shooting. Akshay joked about my knees looking darker than usual.He repeatedly said that there were blood clots in my knees and all the actors and other members of the crew had a good laugh.Even though it was a joke, I felt quite uncomfortable.The incident remained in the depths of my mind and i cried a lot over it but never applied any fairness cream on my face,” cited Shanti.
With the statement garnering a lot of hate towards Akshay Kumar, Shanti Priya quickly said that her co-actor meant no harm and intended it as a joke.

Shanti Priya is a well known heroine having been the lead in nearly 25 films in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil. The actress hails fromAndhra Pradesh and is the younger sister of another popular actress, Bhanupriya. The actress married fellow actor Siddarth Ray in 1992 known for movies like Baazigar and Vansh. Unfortunately, Siddarth Ray passed away at age 40 due to a heart attack. The pair have 2 sons.
