Thalapathy Vijay has set several records for Tamil films with his last film, Leo, which was released on 19 October 2023. Leo emerged as the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2023,[7][8] the sixth highest-grossing Indian film of 2023, the highest-grossing Tamil film overseas, the 14th highest-grossing Indian film and the highest-grossing film in Tamil Nadu.
Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo was a huge blockbuster. Yet, it faced issues with its Teludu release as a case was filed mentioning that the title Leo was already registered, yet the makers of the film Leo used it. The issues were sorted through an out-of-court settlement.
After Leo Thalapathy, Vijay has geared up for his next film with Mankantha’s famed Venkat Prabhu. The movie is titled G.O.A.T(Greatest Of All Times), and the poster was released recently, which went viral in no time.
But it looks like G.O.A.T. will face the same issues as Leo. Vijay’s next film will be a bigger problem than Leo, as Sudigali Sudheer’s upcoming film with Naresh Kuppili is also tilted G.O.A.T, which was announced long back, and posters were also out. Both films are set to release in 2024. As we move closer to releasing these movies, we might get more clarity.
