Recently, it was reported that the actor shot with Shraddha Kapoor for his cameo in the horror comedy Stree 2. In the movie, Varun will be portraying the character of Bhediya, creating an exciting crossover within the same cinematic universe.
The shooting for Varun’s scene with Shraddha took place at a studio in Mumbai, as mentioned in the report. His role in the film will lay the foundation for Bhediya 2, also set in the same universe. For this shoot, Varun generously dedicated two days of his schedule to his friend and producer, Dinesh Vijan.
Meanwhile, a source claimed that as soon as Stree 2 reaches the finish line, the filmmaker will focus on the script of Bhediya 2, which will see Varun Dhawan reprise his role as a shape-shifting werewolf. “Bhediya was always envisioned as a franchise. It’s a part of producer Dinesh Vijan’s horror comedy universe.
Blending humour with horror, “Stree” explores societal norms and superstitions. The film successfully balances scares and laughs while delivering a message on gender issues. The film stars Rajkumar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana in pivotal roles, directed by Amar Kaushik.
