Senior Actress Suhasini States That Current Actresses Have No Value

It has become prevalent in current commercial movies that the heroine’s role does not hold any significance to the story. Female leads in the film are only used to add romantic elements and songs. They are not primarily seen adding to the plot and story of the movie. If an actress wants to play a significant role in a film, it must be female-oriented.
Compared to films nowadays and in old times, actresses in past films had progressive and weightage roles. Actress Suhasini has shared her thoughts on this and said that current actresses have less value.

Suhasini Mani Ratnam is an Indian actress, director, producer, and writer. She has worked in many Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada films. The actress is the wife of one of the most celebrated directors, Mani Ratnam. She is also known for her fierce and outspoken personality and has shared her bold thoughts on current actress roles in the film industry. The actress said, “Current generation actresses may be earning more, but as actresses, we received much more value than current actresses. Our roles used to have value and weightage in the film story.”
This has become a known fact, and everyone has a similar opinion. Even the public thinks that actresses are also opting for an easy way to attain fame rather than looking out for strong and bold female characters. What is your take on this? And do you all agree with senior actress Suhasini?
