Samantha’s Time In NYC:
Samantha Ruth Prabhu, one of the most prominent Indian actors, recently jetted off to NYC, as we previously reported, to attend the 41st India Day Parade as a chief guest.
The event is hosted by a leading diaspora organization, the Federation of India Association in New York, commemorating India’s Independence Day. The streets were filled with colourful floats and cultural dances.
Samantha, Jacqueline Fernandez and spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar graced the event. The Family Man actress was seen waving to fans and walking the streets along with the city’s mayor. She thanked the fans for coming and asked them to watch Kushi on September 1.
Representing India, she looked retro chic in an ensemble by Ritu Kumar. After the parade, she stepped out again to attend another event hosted on a cruise. The actress looked as elegant as ever donning a black saree with gold trim by Arpita Mehta, but what stole people’s hearts was her reaction to the event’s organisers playing Oo Antava.
As the actress took the stage to address the gathering, her global hit Oo Antava was played, and the actress cutely giggled in shock, followed by saying, ” You like the song? It’s been a while since I heard this song.”
The actress also shared some glamorous pictures of herself from the parade, captioned, “They say New York is where dreams are made. I started my career when I shot for my first film here…. A scared little girl without a clue about how she was going to make it… but daring enough to dream the big dream! Today, 14 years later…,” paying ode to her first film Yem Maya Chesave and her incredible journey thus far.
