It is known that, a few days ago Director Om Raut kissed the heroine Kriti Sanon on the Tirumala Hills before giving a send-off to her. Since then, netizens are commenting that it is not appropriate to do such a thing in a sacred place like Tirumala. Many are even commenting that though kissing is natural in Mumbai, we should recognize where we are and should behave accordingly.
On the other hand, many temple priests also raised their voices against it. The priests of Chilukur Balaji temple objected to this incident and concluded that Kriti Sanan was not perfect to do Sita’s role. Now it has become a nationwide hot topic. Even if Om Raut did it as usual, doing this in front of the media cameras and at Tirumala temple became a big topic. If not, he should have at least responded as soon as possible and apologized or given an explanation as to why it happened. But still, he hasn’t. It is not clear whether they are just waiting for the publicity or they are afraid that their answer may again turn to controversy.
However, this is all creating unnecessary negativity around the film at a time when everything is looking positive for Adipurush. The hype about the film should be increased, as this kind of controversy will not do any good for the openings. Moreover, there is already immense pressure on Adi Purush to live up to pan-India expectations. Though, there is enough buzz it is not safe to sidetrack controversies like this as it may affect a film to some extent.
