Rumors circulating within the industry suggest that two prominent Telugu producers, Dil Raju and Mythri Movie Makers, are actively vying to acquire the theatrical release rights for “Devara.” In the past, Dil Raju primarily focused on acquiring Nizam rights along with the Vizag territory. However, with the changing landscape of the industry, he has expanded his scope and is now looking to secure total theatrical rights for all regions in the Telugu states, especially for big-ticket movies like “Devara.” Similarly, Mythri Movie Makers is also keen on acquiring the rights for both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, aiming to oversee the film’s distribution in its entirety. Additionally, reports suggest that Sithara Entertainment’s Naga Vamsi has also entered the fray and is on the verge of finalizing a deal to secure the distribution rights.
Rising Competition and Pricing
The growing competition for the distribution rights of “Devara” has attracted the attention of various players in the industry, including Asian-Suresh Babu and others. As a result, the asking price for the theatrical rights has soared, with the makers reportedly seeking nearly ₹120 crores for the deal.
