Doctor Strange to return to the MCU soon: Benedict Cumberbatch’s Hint

Doctor Strange is one of the most intriguing characters in the MCU, played perfectly by Benedict Cumberbatch, known also for his spot-on portrayal of detective Sherlock Holmes. The last time Marvel movie fanatics got to see Stephen Strange’s sorcery was in the 2022 film ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’. Though the film’s mid credit scene shows the newest character, Clea, played by Charlize Theron, clearly indicating there is more to Strange’s story. The exact nature of his return remains unknown. While speaking in an interview recently in regards to the superhero’s future, the actor hinted at his return, saying “There are some Marvel capers in the making next year.” The extent of his appearance is unknown, whether it’s a new film or a surprise cameo, is something we have to find out in the coming year.

Thankfully though with the introduction of his new love interest Clea speaking of an incursion they need to fix, at least we know there is more of his adventure to come! After his well-known love interest Christine Palmer gets married in the latest movie, writer, Michael Waldron revealed, “We knew that we wanted to introduce Clea. She’s Strange’s great love in the comics and it felt to me like Strange wasn’t at the point at the start of our movie where he was ready to meet the love of his life. It felt like we had to close the loop with he and Christine Palmer. So after she gives him her wisdom to not be afraid of loving someone, then it felt like we were right to tease what could be eventually with he and Clea.”  Though the next phase of the MCU doesn’t seem to have a stand alone Doctor Strange film on the cards its exciting to ponder which new marvel movie he might appear in. Fantastic four? Or Avengers: The Kang Dynasty? Who knows what the MCU has in store.
