Alia Bhatt’s Heart Of Stone put on hold:
Alia Bhatt, who gained critical acclaim and global fame with movies like Gangubhai and RRR is all set to make her mark in the American Film Industry with her upcoming movie ‘Heart of Stone.’ The film has a stellar cast and Alia Bhatt got the opportunity to work with Wonder Woman fame, Gal Gadot.
Unfortunately for the film and Bhatt, due to the recent uprisings occurring in Hollywood, the film may be put on hold and halted from releasing until further notice. For the unversed the SAG-AFTRA strike is concerned with the actors and members of the film fraternity demanding better pay and working conditions.
The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) wants streaming giants to agree to a fairer split of profits and better working conditions. It also wants to protect actors from being replaced by AI. During the progression of the strike, actors cannot appear or promote films they have made.
The strike affects all red carpet events and even Comic-con might be postponed. Seeing as Alia Bhatt’s Heart Of Stone was gearing up for an OTT release on Netflix, it will be hard to tell when the film will actually be available to fans. The strike is reportedly to be continued till September, meaning Alia’s Heart Of Stone has to be put on the shelf until at least a few months when the strike hopefully concludes.

Heart Of Stone is a spy action film. It stars Gal Gadot as the female Protagonist along with Alia Bhatt as what appears to be the antagonist, followed by Jamie Dornan, Matthias Schweighofer, Jing Lusi and Sophie Okonedo in important roles.
The film follows Rachel Green who works for a shady secret agency that aims at maintaining world peace as she tries to stop a hacker (Alia Bhatt) from stealing the ‘Heart’, which is an all-powerful weapon that can ” crash a market or drop a plane out of the sky.”
What is the SAG-AFTRA strike:
The Writer’s Gild have been protesting since early may. Now 160,000 artists and crew members stopped work at midnight in LA. Picketing will begin on Friday morning outside the California headquarters of Netflix, before moving on to Warner Bros and Disney etc. Many A-Listers have also taken a stand.
Actor George Clooney recently urged his contemporaries to join the strike. The cast of Oppenheimer made headlines as they walked out of their UK premiere early. The strike’s main aims include demanding a fairer split of profits between the actors and members of the film and streaming giants.
Another concern is the use of AI to replace actual actors. To which the streaming Biggies and AMPTP have offered what they call a ‘ground breaking proposal’, that requires the consent of the individual actors before the likeness is used through AI as digital replicas for performances.
The SAG’s national executive director and chief negotiator, Duncan Crabtree-Ireland, said it was unacceptable and stated, “They propose that our background performers should be able to be scanned, get paid for one day’s pay, and their company should own that scan of their image, their likeness, and should be able to use it for the rest of eternity,” he said. “If you think that’s a ground-breaking proposal, I suggest you think again.”
