Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan Box Office Collections Day 5

Maidaan, directed by Amit Sharma and starring Ajay Devgn, made its theatrical debut on April 11, 2024, with paid previews held on April 10. The film faced stiff competition at the box office from Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, featuring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, both released during Eid 2024. Despite a strong critical reception and a promising start at the box office, Maidaan experienced a significant decline in earnings on its fifth day of release.

On day five, early estimates by Sacnilk revealed a notable drop in Maidaan’s box office collections. After earning approximately Rs 6.4 crore on the fourth day, the film’s earnings plummeted to just Rs 1.50 crore on the subsequent day. This marks the lowest single-day collection for Maidaan since its theatrical release, raising concerns about its sustained performance.

As of now, the total box office collection for Maidaan stands at Rs 23.50 crore. The film initially garnered an opening of Rs 7.25 crore, inclusive of earnings from paid previews. Despite a promising start, the film’s inability to maintain momentum beyond its opening weekend has led to a considerable decline in its overall earnings.

In addition to its domestic performance, the makers of Maidaan provided an update on the film’s global box office collections on April 15. The total worldwide gross collection for Maidaan currently stands at Rs 31.86 crore. However, the cumulative sum, including earnings from the fifth day, is yet to be disclosed.

Moving forward, it remains uncertain how quickly the Amit Sharma-directed sports drama will surpass the Rs 50 crore mark in the international market. While Maidaan’s initial reception was promising, its inability to sustain momentum in the face of competition from other releases underscores the challenges faced by films in maintaining box office success over an extended period.

“Maidaan”, starring Ajay Devgn, faces challenges in advance bookings. Despite its historical sports drama theme, the film has struggled to gain momentum. As of now, it has seen advance sales of approximately Rs 20 lakhs. The clash between these two films has intensified the competition, with “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” surging ahead in terms of ticket sales.
